Freebox (usefreebox.com and the Freebox iOS app) helps you find free local items and estimates what they could resell for. This page explains what we collect and what we do with it, in plain language.

What we collect

  • Account data: your email address, used to sign you in and manage your subscription. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
  • ZIP codes you search: used to show finds near you and, if you save a home ZIP, to default your feed and alerts to your area.
  • Things you save: vault items and alert keywords you create.
  • Payments: handled entirely by Stripe (web) or Apple (iOS). We never see or store your card number.
  • Usage analytics: page and feature events sent to PostHog and Google tags to understand what works and fix what does not. For AI-assistant searches, service analytics include the signed-in Freebox user ID and ZIP searched.

AI assistant connections (MCP)

If you connect Freebox to an AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP client), the assistant can search finds, read area summaries, and manage your vault and alerts on your behalf after you authorize it via OAuth. We receive only the requests the assistant makes with your authorization; we do not receive your conversation transcripts. Search and area-summary requests may include the ZIP you provide or your saved home ZIP, and service analytics record that ZIP with your signed-in Freebox user ID. Read-only and destructive actions are annotated so the assistant asks before deleting anything.

What we never do

  • We never sell your personal data.
  • We never share your email with third parties for their marketing.
  • We never post anywhere on your behalf.

Where the listings come from

Listing data is collected from publicly available free-section listings. Resale values shown are estimates produced by our valuation model — they are not appraisals or guarantees.

Deleting your data

Email howdamain@gmail.com from your account address and we will delete your account and associated data within 30 days. Canceling your subscription works from your Stripe receipt (web) or iOS Settings → Subscriptions (App Store).
