The Freebox Secondhand Price Index computes valuations by continuously aggregating sold and asking comps across local cash marketplaces, secondary platforms, and verified curbside drop alerts.
Outlier Truncation: For every physical item category, prices below the 10th percentile (damaged/parts-only) and above the 90th percentile (mint collectors or commercial dealers) are isolated to establish a realistic Typical Resale Range for peer-to-peer cash transactions.
Pawn Benchmark: Pawn shop cash offers are calculated at a standard 25%–35% liquidity discount against secondary market value, representing immediate walk-in cash value.
